Treasures of Ancient Akrotiri and Santorini Wineries Tour
TOUR DESCRIPTION
This private day pairs two of the things Santorini does best: ancient history and volcanic wine. It begins at Akrotiri, the Bronze Age town that was buried under ash by the Minoan eruption some 3,600 years ago and has been remarkably well preserved ever since. Walking the covered streets with your guide, you see multi-storey houses, storage jars and wall-painting fragments, and hear why many people connect the site with Plato’s story of Atlantis.
From the excavations the tour turns inland to the island’s wine country. You visit three traditional Santorini wineries, go into their cellars and see each step of making wine on a dry, windswept volcanic island. Across the three estates you taste 12 Santorini wine styles, among them crisp Assyrtiko, barrel-aged Nykteri and the sweet, sun-dried Vinsanto, with local cheese and small plates served alongside. It is a full six hours, at your own pace, with a private driver and guides throughout.

PICKUP INFORMATION
Parts of Santorini are built on a slope, in case your hotel/ Airbnb is inaccessible by car due to landscape, pedestrianized areas, or any other restrictions, your pickup will be set at a nearby meeting point location within walking distance from your accommodation that will be advised after your booking.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you cancel more than 3 days (more than 72 hours) in advance of your scheduled departure, there is no cancellation fee and a 100 percent refund will be processed back to the original form of payment.
If you cancel within 72 hours of the scheduled departure or NO-SHOW, there is a 100 percent cancellation fee.
In addition, no changes / reschedules are possible 72 hours or less before the tour start time.
